Police are warning people to be vigilant.
POLICE in Ross-shire are urging people to be vigilant of potentially fraudulent charity collectors.

The warning follows concern reported to police by a charity about people claiming to be working for them in the Invergordon area.

Anybody working for registered charities will carry ID badges at all times.

Constable Holly Mackenzie said: "We would advise that if you have concerns about a person then contact the charity on a number you have sourced yourself, or call 101 to speak to Police Scotland.

"I would stress that at this stage there is nothing to suggest that anyone has been a victim of fraud, but we want the public to be aware and to take precautions if they have concerns."
