FANS are pouring into the RockNess site as the Highlands’ biggest music festival gets under way.
Around 35,000 revellers are expected to descend on the festival staged over three days on the banks of Loch Ness.
Headline acts this year include Mumford and Sons, Deadmau5, Justice, Ed Sheeran, Biffy Clyro, The View and Mylo.
The overcast and drizzly conditions were not dampening the spirits of the fans as they began pitching their tents ready for the first night of the festival which will see Mumford and Sons wowing the crowds.
RockNess has already witnessed its first wedding.
Steven Brockett (29) and Eilidh Jones (31) wed in a ceremony on a hillock next to the 10ft high white letters spelling out the word RockNess above the festival arena.
Steven proposed to Eilidh a year to the day ago, during a romantic walk alogn Dores Beach.
On Thursday night, history was made when the first train to be charted to take people to a festival in the UK arrived in Inverness Station.
The train picked up around 600 revellers at various stops in England after leaving from London Euston.
Meanwhile the Olympic Torch is expected to make a special appearance on the main stage tomorrow afternoon.
Festival director Jim King said: "We’ve got some amazing acts this year and there’s some incredible music and comedy acts to look forward to."
