STRATHPEFFER Pipe Band is seeking new recruits to join its ranks.

The band practice nights start up again for the winter season on Tuesday, November 7 at 7.30pm at Strathpeffer Community Centre and anyone interested is urged to go along.

Band member Alan McHardy said: "We would be delighted to welcome any pipers or drummers, of any age and experience, who would like to join the band.

"The band plays at various events throughout the Highlands, where you can enjoy a full day out at some fantastic locations with some cracking people.

"We also do some competitions, for the experience."

The band parades in Strathpeffer Square during the summer once a week with a display of Highland Dancing from the Marion Munro School of Dance.

Anyone joining would be asked to commit to two hours practice per week on a Tuesday in Strathpeffer, as well as two extra hours, or maybe a full day occasionally, during the summer months.

Said Alan: "You can gain so much from ibeing in the band. You get the chance to meet a wide variety of people and be part of a close-knit, happy team, have fun and get the craic. You will also be playing an important part in the Ross-shire community. and helping to keep people entertained."

Anyone interested should go along to Strathpeffer Community Centre on Tuesdays at 7.30pm or get in touch through the band’s Facebook page.
