A TAIN man assaulted a female worker at a McDonald’s restaurant by punching her unconscious, a court has heard.
The door supervisor was trying to escort 23-year-old Samuel Cowie off the premises when he lashed out at her.
At Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday, Cowie admitted assaulting the woman at McDonald’s restaurant in Inverness on March 17, seizing her by the throat and punching her on the head, causing her to lose consciousness and fall to the ground.
Patrick O’Dea, solicitor, said Cowie was verbally abused by an unknown female and that was what triggered the incident.
Cowie, who is formerly from Brora, was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the community by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.
