VINTAGE commerical vehicles of yesteryear are being spruced up for their annual road run from Easter Ross.

The Highland Historic Commercial Vehicle Road Run will take place on Saturday, May 6, the ninth year the popular event has been held.

The vehicles will rally at Dalmore Distillery in Alness from 8.30am when the public are warmly welcomed to come along and enjoy seeing these old beauties, aged from 1951 onwards.

The road run will set off at 10am for the 160-mile trip. This year’s destination is Nethybridge Hotel where a social evening will take place for all participants.

Shirley Mackenzie, of Achnagarron near Invergordon, who organises the event along with husband John, said: "As in previous year’s we are very fortunate to receive sponsership from various local haulage businesses, and following a raffle and auction, any surplus funds are given to charity. Last year we donated to Macmillan Nurses, Marie Curie and Highland Hospice."
