Graham's warning over East Enders!

1 of 2

THERE is no room for any slip-ups when Inverness City host North Junior Division One side East End at the Northern Meeting Park on Saturday.

That's the message from City manager Steve Graham to his players this week.

After a battling 2-2 draw with leaders Fraserburgh United last weekend, City face another tough match on home soil.

And they are determined to take all three points from encounter, which starts at 1.30pm.

Graham stressed: "They are a very physical side who like to play on the counter attack. They gave us a hard game in a 1-1 draw earlier in the season and will definitely be one of the teams challenging for the title - we need to beat them if we are to have a chance of winning the league."

City are expected to be at full strength with the return of captain Colin Mason, who is back from suspension.

Last weekend, victory would have taken City into pole position above their rivals Fraserburgh United, but despite taking the lead twice, the east coast side pegged them back to earn a share of the spoils.

The home side took the lead in the 31st minute when the United defence failed to clear their lines following a corner kick and Sanderson swooped to score. Keith Mason, who was making a record-breaking 150th appearance for the club, linked with Ross Thomson in the build up.

However, the visitors were back on level terms five minutes from the break when a free-kick from the halfway line was met by a United forward who took advantage of hesitancy on the part of the City keeper to head flick the ball into the net.

Difficult conditions underfoot made keep good football to a minimum. But the home side restored their lead in the 65th minute when Jordan MacDonald slotted the ball into the corner of the net from the edge of the 18-yard box.

City went all out for a killer third but with just five minutes left on the clock United equalised when they regained possession in the middle of the park and couple of moves later the ball was in the net.

It got worse for City when Danny Murdoch was red-carded in the last minute for a reckless tackle on the halfway line which prevented a United player from racing clear on goal.
