Station Park freeze strikes again

NAIRN County and Clach were idle on Saturday as their Highland League fixtures agains Deveronvale and Strathspey Thistle respectively were postponed due to frozen pitches.

Nairn will now hope that this weekend's game at Fort William goes ahead so that they can play their first match since their 1-1 draw at Formartine United on January 7.

Forres Mechanics were knocked off top spot as they went down 4-2 at Huntly, while Cove Rangers moved into first place following their 3-0 stroll at Rothes.

Champions Buckie Thistle moved ahead of Nairn into third place thanks to their 3-2 victory at Lossiemouth, although Les Fridge’s team have three games in hand.

Keith were 5-1 winners at home to Formartine United, while Wick Academy made the worthwhile trip to Fraserburgh as they ran out 3-1 winners.

The afternoon’s big winners were Inverurie Locos, who thrashed Brora Rangers 6-1, while Fort William’s weakened side conceded three goals in the last 10 minutes as they lost 5-0 at Turriff United.
