ONE of my library users is visiting Inverness in a few months’ time and is very keen to contact his long-lost cousin.

MY daughter and I will be in Scotland for the first time in June. My grandmother, Mary Ann MacDonald, was born in Inverness on April 30, 1895, to James Henry MacDonald, born 1847, and Mary Ann McRae, 185l.

BETWEEN 1958 and 1960 I served a period of National Service in the RAPC and was friendly with a lovely fellow called Ian Mcleod who hailed from Inverness.

MY paternal grandfather came from Scotland. He married my grandmother Emily Francis Ann Wills in the state of Virginia, Amherst County, probably around 1890, and they were subsequently divorced.
