SHAUN Ryder – one of the most charismatic frontmen to graduate from the Madchester era – will return to the Ironworks on Saturday, September 22. An Audience with Shaun Ryder follows the rock star’s appearance with Manchester band the Happy Mondays last December.

But this time Shaun – also the mainman in Black Grape – will be talking about his life and his music in an up close and personal evening at the venue.

This week Shaun was revealed as one of the youngest celebrities undertaking a gruelling fitness and treatment regime along with seven other household names challenged to lose 100 years in their looks between them in new ITV series 100 Years Younger In 21 Days, billed as “Real Marigold meets Celebrity Fit Club”.

Caroline Campbell, venue director, said: “Following the Happy Mondays’ sold out performance in December, we’re thrilled to be hosting An Audience with Shaun Ryder.

“The event will give audiences a great opportunity to hear from Shaun Ryder himself and provide a great insight into one of Manchester’s most iconic frontmen.”

A spokesman for promoter Music is Life said: “Getting Shaun Ryder to come to Inverness – with several lifetimes of controversy and hell-raising –  promises a thoroughly exciting evening!”

Tickets £20 (advance) plus booking fee for the event for over 14s only (under-16s to be accompanied by an adult) go on sale on Friday (March 2) at 10am from the venue.
